- Power Off the Panel PC
- Shut down the operating system properly.
- Disconnect the Panel PC from its power source.
- Unplug all external cables for safety.
- Access the Internal Components
- Place the Panel PC on a stable surface.
- Remove the rear cover or access panel by unscrewing the screws.
- Ground yourself using an anti-static strap or touch a metal surface to discharge static electricity.
- Locate the CMOS Battery
- Look for a coin-shaped battery (similar to a watch battery, usually CR2032) mounted on the motherboard.
- Check the Battery
- Visual check: Ensure the battery is clean, free from corrosion, and firmly seated in its holder.
- Voltage check (optional): Use a multimeter set to DC voltage. A healthy CMOS battery should measure around 3.0V. If the reading is below 2.5V, replacement is recommended.
- Reassemble and Power On
- If no replacement is needed, reattach the rear cover and secure all screws.
- Reconnect power and external cables.
- Power on the Panel PC and check if BIOS settings retain date/time.
