Part No. EMCW1560-i5 - Case 6-OW-106213-80276 - How to check CMOS Battery?

  • Power Off the Panel PC
    • Shut down the operating system properly.
    • Disconnect the Panel PC from its power source.
    • Unplug all external cables for safety.
  • Access the Internal Components
    • Place the Panel PC on a stable surface.
    • Remove the rear cover or access panel by unscrewing the screws.
    • Ground yourself using an anti-static strap or touch a metal surface to discharge static electricity.
  • Locate the CMOS Battery
    • Look for a coin-shaped battery (similar to a watch battery, usually CR2032) mounted on the motherboard.

  • Check the Battery
    • Visual check: Ensure the battery is clean, free from corrosion, and firmly seated in its holder.
    • Voltage check (optional): Use a multimeter set to DC voltage. A healthy CMOS battery should measure around 3.0V. If the reading is below 2.5V, replacement is recommended.
  • Reassemble and Power On
    • If no replacement is needed, reattach the rear cover and secure all screws.
    • Reconnect power and external cables.
    • Power on the Panel PC and check if BIOS settings retain date/time.
